Global Operational Excellence Director
As the Global Director of Operational Excellence in Medical Device Manufacturing, you will be pivotal in driving efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement across our manufacturing operations worldwide. You will lead the ATL team toward operational excellence and collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to optimize processes, reduce costs, and enhance overall operational performance.
You will be responsible for implementing ATL's Operational Standardization across all sites and ensuring the sites perform objective quarterly assessments against the standard. The goal is to have all operational sites utilizing 16 LEAN tools effectively to drive global operational excellence.
What you will be doing:
- Build upon and implement ATL's comprehensive operational excellence strategy ensuring alignment with the company's goals and objectives each year. The outcome will be measured by analyzing customer satisfaction, manufacturing efficiency, product quality, working capital, and gross margin improvement.
- Lead initiatives to streamline manufacturing processes, improve workflow efficiency, and eliminate waste through the application of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other continuous improvement techniques.
- Partner with the Quality organization to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, driving a culture of quality and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) throughout the organization.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational performance and track progress towards operational excellence goals. Regularly analyze data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate closely with other functional areas, including NPI Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, and Human Resources to ensure alignment and integration of operational excellence initiatives with broader business objectives.
- Build and develop a high-performing culture, at each site, by providing leadership, coaching, and mentoring to drive individual and team success. Invest in training and development programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of team members.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, fostering a mindset of agility and adaptability to respond to evolving market dynamics and business needs. Lead change management efforts to drive organizational transformation and ensure successful implementation of operational excellence initiatives.
What we expect from you:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the medical device manufacturing industry, with a track record of success in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, build consensus, and drive change across organizational boundaries.
- Expertise in lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other continuous improvement tools and techniques.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing operational excellence strategies, including process optimization, quality management, and performance measurement.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data, identify root causes of issues, and develop actionable solutions.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, delivering results on time and within budget.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards applicable to medical device manufacturing (e.g., FDA regulations, ISO 13485) is highly desirable.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
