Technical Sales Engineer

The Technical Sales Engineer will coordinate and manage the day-to-day activities around ATL MN order management and costing processes. Their efforts will help drive the success of the ATL's year-over-year Sales & EBITDA goals.

What you will be doing:

The Technical Sales Engineer will be a Subject Matter Experts (SME) on ATL's costing process.

  • Setup customer costing project folders, create a new cost sheet, ensuring that the cost sheet is on its latest template revision.
  • Creates the Workfront costing project on ATL MN site only costings.
  • Understand the NBO approval process and ensure Opportunities have been approved before costing activities start
  • Analyze customer quote packets for gaps in requirements and gaps in ATL capabilities.
  • Completes costing requests for final manufacturing locations of Minnesota
  • Coordinates with all ATL sites on costing efforts for subassemblies and components that will be manufactured in MN & sent to other ATL sites.
  • Participate in the weekly Global Costing Meeting

The Technical Sales Engineer will shoot and ship opportunity management.

  • Work with customers to gather required information
  • Ensure the request meets shoot & ship guidelines
  • Use costing tools to cost out the run, following the costing process
  • Load information in CRM for traceability
  • Provide quotes to customers, using the required quote template

They are responsible for customer account activity, related to the ATL MN site

  • Receive, process, verify, and update customer purchase orders. Place customer purchase orders into the ERP system. Create and update Sales Orders based on customer POs. Maintain records of customer POs and COs.
  • Attend incoming calls, emails, or inquiries from customers and internal stakeholders (RSM's, Project teams, Management, etc....) to promptly provide requested information regarding order status.
  • Prepare summary and detailed reports of orders for customers and internal stakeholders (RSM's, Project teams, Management, etc....).
  • Keep the ERP system updated: configure new customers, new products, and revisions of new products, as well as update product costs and prices.
  • Receive customer feedback and input it into ATL's QuickBase system. Follow up as needed until the issue is resolved.
  • Coordinate returns of materials by customers. Create an RMA from the system and generate credit notes as necessary.
  • Maintain constant communication with planning regarding production and finished product plans.
  • Maintain constant communication with project teams regarding CO lines for project work.
  • Place purchase orders between companies for commercial items.
  • Manage and update the forecast for each customer.

What we expect from you:

A bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field. They need to be proficient in Microsoft Office applications. They will also need to be proficient in supplemental applications, ERP systems, Contact Management Software, Project Tracking Software, SharePoint, etc. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are required. The ideal candidate will have high level analytical skills and technical aptitude. Finally, they will need strong verbal and written skills, including comfort presenting to stakeholders at all levels.
