At Thermon, we design and manufacture world-class industrial heating and filtration equipment, and we're seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Oakville, Ontario. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping designs that meet ASME standards while collaborating across departments to bring innovative solutions to life.

This is an onsite role.

What You'll Do

As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll:

  • Ensure Engineering Excellence: Review and certify ASME Sect. I, IV, VIII Div.1 & 2 design documents, ensuring designs meet stringent code requirements. Develop Procedure Qualification Records (PQR ) and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) per ASME Sec. IX.
  • Drive Quality and Compliance: Prepare and seal (stamp) pressure vessel design reports, calculations, and identify necessary updates to quality programs as ASME standards evolve.
  • Champion Collaboration: Partner with production, welding, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability, safety, and compliance in every design.
  • Innovate with Purpose: Provide expertise in root cause analysis, troubleshoot production challenges, and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Lead Code Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert, guiding teams on engineering codes, project specifications, and standards.

What We're Looking For

We value individuals who bring a combination of technical expertise, creativity, and a collaborative spirit. Here's what will set you up for success:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a P.Eng. designation in Ontario.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, with strong working knowledge of CSA B51 and ASME BPVC Sect. I, IV, VIII Div.1 & 2, and IX.
  • Strong understanding of materials properties, welding techniques and fabrication processes for pressure vessel manufacturing is a plus
  • Proficiency with tools like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and familiarity with FEA methodology. Experience with COMPRESS and MathCAD is a plus.
  • Bonus Skills: Knowledge of process design, electrical systems, and/or the nuclear industry.
