JOB SUMMARY
The Area Revenue Manager implements revenue management strategies and processes in conjunction with the hotel management team and corporate team, in order to maximize the hotel revenue.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Implements revenue management strategies and procedures using brand systems.
- Identifies new revenue opportunities.
- Provides daily, weekly, and monthly reporting, as directed.
- Optimizes and expands partnerships with hotel teams and vendors (OTA, brand reps, etc.).
- Acts as overall business development consultant to the hotel team.
- Travels to hotels for property and market reviews.
- Oversees revenue management and distribution strategy of the hotel, and manages day to day yield operations in various hotel systems.
- Responsible for daily pick-up analysis, strategy adjustments, and reporting.
- Performs competitive benchmark studies and follows market trends.
- Creates and maintains a 13-month rolling demand calendar.
- Creates and develops pricing strategies in conjunction with the individuality of each hotel.
- Assists in forecasting of revenues, variances, and budget comparisons.
- Manages and oversees strategy for all third-party distribution.
- Responsible for assessing, analyzing, and pricing group business strategies.
- Analyzes overall monthly hotel performance and provides summary report with recommendations to improve long term strategies.
- Ensures all related systems are configured correctly, validated, and working to full capacity.
- Ensures website booking process is maintained up to date, and functional.
- Ensures hotel personnel are fully competent in the use of all systems.
- Regularly checks the input and the quality of data points (segmentation, denials tracking, etc.).
- Conducts quarterly property performance review and develops strategic and tactical action.
- Responsible for best practice standards to include: competitor analysis; environmental scanning; market modeling; distribution yield management; business mix yield management; length of stay yield management; inventory availability by channel; pricing control; and, new pricing concepts.
- Evaluates performance of distribution partners and contracted rates (OTA, FIT, tour operator, corporate, consortia, crew, groups, etc.).
- Prepares outline for and supports the annual revenue budget process.
- Visits the hotels to get first-hand knowledge of all revenue management issues and other key areas.
- Completes all required Company training/compliance courses as assigned.
- Adheres to Company standards and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- Associate's degree or equivalent in related field.
EXPERIENCE
- A minimum three (3) years of experience in the multi-property revenue management field required.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
This position requires the capability to understand and follow both oral and written directions, as well as knowledge and usage of correct business English and office practices. Must be able to communicate effectively with others, analyze and resolve problems, maintain effective working relationships, and interact successfully with internal and external customers.
- Proven success in a remote home-based position.

- Proficient with systems for brands revenue management applications such as MARSHA, One Yield, GRO, etc.
