Description

We are seeking a Sales Manager covering the East of England and East Central Scotland! Our UK office consists of +/- 20 colleagues from different departments. The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for strengthening and developing the business for Thermon within their sales region. The customer mix typically consists of end users, engineering contractors, installation contractors, system integrators, and distributors. Importantly the majority of time would be customer-facing and site visits.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Acquire and develop new customers and key accounts
  • Customer analysis to define potential Heat Tracing and Process Heating opportunities
  • Find new opportunities. Develop plans to maximize sales of the Thermon products, systems and services (solutions)
  • Find technical solutions within Thermon's capabilities and communicate with the customer
  • Maintain and develop customer relations for long-term relationship based on mutual trust
  • Manage customer expectations and enhance the customer experience resulting in sales
  • Conduct negotiations, help prepare quotations, assist in preparing contracts
  • Communicate, when needed, with the customer during the execution of a (project) order
  • Provide competitor analysis and market monitoring, analyses market trends. Maintain awareness of market conditions and competitors' products, systems, and pricing
  • Prepare sales reports to management regularly and provide feedback
  • Communicate new product developments to customers
  • Sales and margin responsible for their region
  • Follow up opportunities and quotations and register in CRM.

  • Good negotiation & communication skills
  • Ability to create and maintain sales contacts on all levels
  • Ability to manage the sales process and interact with technical sales support
  • Attention to detail, ability to work in a team but also able to work independently
  • Responsible for pricing and follow-up of quotations
  • Strong commercial skills and technical background
  • Advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) capabilities
  • Independent, self-motivated, team player
  • Able to effectively communicate on all levels, internal and external

Knowledge and experience

  • Commercial background (graduate degree in engineering/commerce/comparable experience) with experience in a technical environment
  • Work experience of at least five years' in a technical and/or industrial sector is an advantage
  • Experience in business-to-business in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Energy and Renewables sectors is an advantage
  • Valid driver's license.
