JOB SUMMARY

The Vice President (VP) of Sales and Marketing is a senior executive responsible for overseeing the development and execution of sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue growth (total hotel), brand visibility, and market share expansion. This role combines leadership, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of customer needs and market dynamics. The VP will manage above property sales and marketing leaders, develop data-driven strategies, and collaborate closely with other executive team members to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Develops and executes sales strategies to achieve company revenue targets, focusing on new business acquisition, customer retention, and market penetration.
  • Builds and maintains strong customer relationships, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Leads, mentors, and motivates the sales team to achieve individual and team performance goals.
  • Oversees sales forecasting, budgeting, and resource allocation to optimize the sales process and ensure consistent growth.
  • Analyzes sales data and performance metrics to identify trends, forecast opportunities, and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
  • Develops comprehensive marketing strategies that align with business goals and ensure consistent brand messaging across all platforms.
  • Oversees the development and execution of digital marketing campaigns, content marketing, social media initiatives, and traditional advertising.
  • Leads market research efforts to identify emerging trends, customer insights, and competitive threats.
  • Collaborates with product development and research and development (R&D) teams to align marketing initiatives with product offerings and innovation.
  • Manages the marketing budget and optimize marketing spend for maximum return on investment (ROI).
  • Defines and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) for sales and marketing success, including but not limited to setting booking goals by segment, activity goals, lead response times, conversion rates, market share.
  • Regularly reports on sales and marketing performance to the COO, providing actionable insights and recommendations for improvement. Works with the team to pull through the action items and measure results.
  • Works closely with the Revenue Strategy team and Directors of Operations to align around sales and marketing priorities and initiatives.
  • Provides guidance and leadership in creating an integrated customer experience across all touchpoints (sales, marketing, customer service).
  • Leads, mentors, and develops high-performing sales and marketing team members.
  • Sets clear goals, provides constructive feedback, and supports career development for team members.
  • Fosters a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the department.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing or equivalent in related field.

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum ten (10) years of experience in related field required.
  • A minimum ten (10) years of supervisory experience in hotel sales and marketing field required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees and coordinates the department's activities, with a focus on supervisory and organizational goals. While a portion of the time may involve performing tasks similar to those of direct reports, the primary responsibilities are related to management and coordination. Analyzes and resolves issues, establishes work methods, ensures regulatory compliance, and maintains productivity. Uses judgment within established procedures and policies to make appropriate decisions and take necessary actions.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

This position requires the capability to understand and follow both oral and written directions, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with others in English and interact successfully with internal and external customers.

  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and leading both sales and marketing departments at a senior level.
  • Extensive experience in developing and executing digital marketing strategies, including SEO, content marketing, and social media.
