MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I - RECREATION DIVISION

Pay Grade: GRADE 120: $43,489.03 - $63,059.09 Annual Salary (Hourly Rate $20.91 - $30.32)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Merit, Full-Time, Eligible for Benefits.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position assists in project managing or performing semi-skilled and unskilled labor in the construction, maintenance, and related service activities related to utility maintenance. Receives direct supervision from the Recreation Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Check and monitor pool levels and chemicals.
- Assisting with coordinating bids for recreational projects
- Maintain hand tools and assigned equipment; perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Utilize proper safety precautions related to all work performed.
- Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner and provide information within the area of assignment.
- Resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
- Perform snow removal and ice control duties as required.
- Respond to and resolve difficult and sensitive citizen inquiries and complaints.
- Take stand-by status as assigned.
- Check and monitor pool levels and chemicals.
- Operate construction and maintenance equipment and power tools such as compressors, paint sprayers, mowers, edgers, and blowers.
- Participate in safety and risk management activities; take action to reduce liability to the city.
- Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position. Employee is required to work as a team and frequently meet with co-workers and supervisors; employee is required to communicate in-person with the public during office hours and after when on call; and employee is required to use on-site equipment.
- Help at times with Football, Baseball, and Softball field prep.
- Perform other related duties as required/assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- At least two years of general maintenance experience or project managing.

- Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid, Class B Utah CDL driver's license within 120 days of hire.
- CPO certification is required within 90 days.
- Employee will be required to complete NIMS IS100, IS200, IS700, and IS800 within one year of hire.
