Job Title: TICKET OFFICE SUPERVISOR

Rate of Pay: $18.50/Hour

Shift: Seasonal position approximately Oct-April

Oct-Nov: Part-time (20-30 hrs/wk), Dec-Apr: Full-time (35-40 hrs/wk)

Sunday through Saturday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; M, W, F, Sat 4:00 pm-9:00 pm

Weekends, holidays and special events are required based on business needs.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly


SUMMARY

The Ticket Office Supervisor manages the day-to-day operations of the office and ensures that both department and resort service standards are being met and guest's needs are being taken care of efficiently, professionally, accurately, consistently, and that all staff demonstrate excellent guest service skills.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that every guest who comes in contact with the Ticket Office is serviced according to Sundance standards.
  • Greet guests and answer any questions regarding the ticket office, ski & weather conditions, and Sundance Resort.
  • Work well under pressure and handle stressful situations professionally.
  • Resolve customer and employee complaints, concerns, and problems efficiently, consistently, and professionally.
  • Assist the Safety and Lift Operations Departments in handling fraudulent tickets and passes, ensuring guests are treated with respect and with efficient/clear communication.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the ticketing gate system including common scanning issues.
  • Exhibit a working knowledge of the ticketing software and ability to train others on basic software functionality.
  • Run point of sale transactions including cash, credit cards, gift certificates, and voucher redemption.
  • Be mindful of budgets and make decisions that create a balance between customer service and fiscal responsibility.
  • Assist the Resort Ticketing Manager and/or Ticketing Coordinator in creating effective Ticket Office systems to optimize efficiency and service, including season pass promotional sales events.
  • Carry out opening and closing duties including accountability for Ticket Office cash register, accounting, and statistics.
  • Manage Corporate Pass purchasing and distribution lists.
  • Manage the resort VIP and Complimentary ski benefits distribution list as presented by the Executive Office.
  • Assist Resort Ticketing Manager in tracking groups with reservations and ticket purchases.
  • Develop, implement, and train staff on ticket office systems and procedures, including conducting weekly staff meetings and ongoing trainings.
  • Monitor staff efficiency and knowledge, utilizing training and leadership skills to ensure all staff are trained and efficient in their responsibilities.
  • Schedule Ticket Office staff with the help of Resort Ticketing Manager.
  • Create a positive and fun atmosphere for employees and guests.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Supervisory and guest service experience required.
  • Proficient with Point-of-Sale Software, computer databases, spreadsheets, timekeeping systems and electronic mail. Use of a 2-way radio.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to sit and reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, color vision, and ability to adjust and focus.
  • With outdoor job performance, a uniform will be provided for outdoor employees. Employees will be required to dress to fit the weather conditions including rain, hail, sleet, snow, and wind. Some shifts may also include warm, sunny weather.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to outside weather conditions including but not limited to rain, snow, hail, sleet, and wind. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
