SUMMARY:

This position will assist current Project Managers and is intended to be a Project Manager training program. The Assistant Project Manager under the direction of the Project Manager will play a support staff role to assist in planning, directing and coordinating activities of a designated project. The Assistant PM will provide support to ensure that project budgets are met, goals and objectives of the project are accomplished within a prescribed time frame and within budget by performing the following duties. In addition, the Assistant PM must be a master communicator, well organized and have the ability to pay attention to small details.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Have a complete and thorough understanding of the project contract documents.
  • Monitor the project budgets and schedules to ensure an on-time and on-budget project.
  • Assist in building the project schedule.
  • Review AWS standards for each project and make recommendations on how to achieve those standards.
  • Review inventory levels and make recommendations to meet production schedules.
  • Assist in inventory analysis and address potential problems.
  • Prepares project reports for management, client or others.
  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
  • Ensures Project Managers are well informed, at all times, of changes made within the scope of their individual projects.
  • Communicates effectively with all internal Project Managers to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies.
  • Communicates in a positive and professional manner with the external customer.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

BS (or working towards) in Engineering or Construction Management preferred. One to two years hands-on PM experience preferred.

Currently this position manages a contract for the LDS Church. This contract requires the employee to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Travel up to 30% of the time to various job sites. Varied hours will be required as necessary.
