The Role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive project controller to work collaboratively with our team on specific short- and long-term projects. This role will oversee tasks delegated by the project managers and ensure that projects are moving forward on time and on budget. The Project Control Specialist will need to be highly organized, adaptable, and able to prioritize tasks while working independently with little to no supervision from the project manager.

• This role will report to the Manager, Project Management.
• The Control Specialist will be based out of our office located at 8880 Telephone Rd, Houston, TX 77061 (Near Hobby Airport).

What You Will Do

• Work with Project Manager to develop project plans upon transfer of the contract from sales.
• Identify all project deliverables (Scope of supply, engineering deliverables, documentation requirements, quality certification requirements, billing requirements, etc.).
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure that deadlines are met, and tasks are completed on time
• Maintain, monitor, and organize project records and documentation on incoming project opportunities
• Coordinate and schedule project meetings, take meeting minutes, and distribute meeting minutes on behalf of the Project Manager.
• Generate progress reports as required by the contract.
• Advise project Managers of potential cost over-runs and schedule delays.
• Assist the Manager in setting weekly priorities on deliverables from all departments.
• Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines with minimal direction.
• Confident, self-assured and able to master Time Management skill.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of and commitment to client service.
• Comfortable with taking charge and dealing with ambiguity to achieve successful outcomes.
• Strong team building and communication skills and the proven ability to influence change.
• Experience working in a High Performing engineering organization and able to provide insight, feedback and commitment.
• Decisive, thorough, and timely when drawing conclusions and managing expectations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to communication; The ability to ensure that information is passed on to others who should be kept informed.
• Ensures that others involved in a project or effort are kept informed about developments and plans.

• Keeps his/her manager informed about progress and problems; avoids surprises.
• Ensures that regular, consistent communication takes place.
• Other tasks assigned if needed.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 4 years of experience or 6 years of experience without a degree.
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in Project Controlling.
• Experience in Construction Field is a Plus.
• Previous work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented and deadline driven work environment is a plus
• Skilled in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Experience working with financial systems is a plus.
