About being our CAD Designer

In this hybrid role, our experienced CAD Designer will be working both independently and with a team. Our ideal candidate will bring their collaboration and communication skills, along with their high-quality drafting practices and civil design expertise, to efficiently assist with project work and support the team.

Responsibility Highlights for our CAD Designer

• Work under minimal supervision providing support to a project team
• Help with the development of projects and transform initial rough product designs using computer aided design (CAD) into working documents
• Support preparation of base design drawings, plans, exhibits, and details using CAD
• Assist with projects regarding water, wastewater, highway design, traffic infrastructure, and road/storm drainage (Transportation/Public Works team)
• Assist in utility investigation and coordination
• Be responsible for organizing and executing the preparation of base drawings, plans, and exhibits using CAD
• Performs thorough quality control (QA/QC) of models and sheet files for standards compliance
• Maintain structure and organization of project files and standards
• Create, maintain, and edit traffic flow, traffic infrastructure, highway design, and road/storm drainage projects from concept through final construction drawings (Transportation/Public Works team)
• Assist with projects regarding residential, municipal or commercial site project (Site/Land Development team)
• Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions
• Support other team members as needed

Minimum Qualifications to be our CAD Designer

• Associate Degree or Technical College or Vocational Training in CAD
• 5+ years' experience of AutoCAD and Civil 3D relevant to civil engineering
• A comprehensive understanding of the design process in the civil engineering transportation and public works or the site/land development industry.
