BACKGROUND: Since 1952, Beacon Group has been creating opportunities for people with disabilities across Southern Arizona, Phoenix and beyond. As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, Beacon serves over 1,700 people with disabilities each year. Beacon provides job training and placement, supported and center-based employment, and day treatment programs to assist the more than two-thirds of working-age people with disabilities who do not have a job. POSITION INTRODUCTION: This position is responsible for the comprehensive maintenance needs of the agency. This includes preventative maintenance, as well as corrective maintenance. The position also requires maintenance and emergency repairs for the vehicles operated by the agency. All work is to be properly documented.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to balance, crouch, bend, stoop, crawl, walk, kneel, twist, stand, stretch, climb and sit.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 100 pounds.
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines and facility equipment, and minor vehicle troubleshooting.
  • Ability to understand/comprehend written and/or verbal communications.
  • Tolerates environmental conditions such as wetness, dust, noise, hot/cold, etc.
  • Analytical and decision-making ability.
  • Ability to learn, use, and repair equipment.
  • Ability to operate industrial equipment.
  • Able to tolerate heights.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills.
  • Carpentry, electrical, landscaping, plumbing, vehicle maintenance
  • Provide proof of good driving.
  • Valid Arizona License.
  • Obtain and Maintain certification in First Aid and CPR as position.
