About being our Construction Manager - Water/Wastewater

As our Construction Manager, you will work independently under general supervision and in conjunction with the Owner's Project Manager to compose and issue field orders, monitor the quality of the construction project and conformance with plans and specifications, monitor the contractor's safety implementation, determine monthly progress payments, create a daily report and monitor the daily reports of staff, initiate change proposals for design team review and approval, estimate cost of changes, negotiate costs with contractors, and recommend acceptance to the Owner's Project Manager.


Responsibility Highlights for our Construction Manager - Water/Wastewater

  • Serve is primary owner representative overseeing, performing, and coordinating daily construction management
  • Lead resolution of day-to-day construction issues
  • Interact with clients, designers, owners, contractors, inspectors, and regulatory agencies including leading meetings and generating correspondence
  • Direct and supervise field construction activities and staff, material testing, surveying, and field contract administration
  • Administer construction contracts including review of contractor's schedules, responding to claims received from contractor, documenting progress of project and answering requests for information, submittals, and change orders
  • Monitor that the project is constructed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, budget, and schedule
  • Enable project success while facilitating the resolution of all project issues in a fair and firm manner
  • Coordinate and managing all Psomas sub-consultants

Minimum Qualifications for our Construction Manager - Water/Wastewater

  • Professional Engineer (PE) / Licensed Civil Engineer in the State of California
  • 10+ years of related work experience - including a minimum of 5 years' experience as a Resident Engineer or Construction Manager
  • Knowledge of Construction Management practices including project time management, cost control, documentation, quality management and safety
  • Experience in the construction of pipelines, pump stations, flow control facilities, treatment plants, and hydro-electric facilities
  • Competent with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel; knowledge of Primavera
