Recently, we expanded our capabilities by acquiring F.A.T.I., a renowned company in Italy specializing in process heaters. This acquisition allows us to enhance our offering of electric heaters used in various industries around the world.

The Role:

We are looking for a collaborative and dedicated Electrical Design Engineer to join our FATI team in Italy (Cusago, Milano). The Design Engineer is responsible for performing engineering activities and providing technical support to the design and manufacturing of industrial control panels and heating equipment, including component selection and sizing, managing electrical product certifications and maintaining product compliance based on updated codes and standards.

Your tasks:

  • Design of various sized projects, at times simultaneously
  • Interaction with customer (internal or external) representative on technical clarifications
  • Create and review drawings using proprietary software
  • Review technical specifications: prepare, review and approve engineering drawings, bills of materials and other engineering documentation.
  • Provide technical support to Sales, Production, Purchasing and Quality departments
  • Review updated codes and standards and assess the impact on existing product design
  • Participate in audits pertaining to electrical product certifications
  • Ensure a safe workplace, including compliance with established safety laws, regulations, codes, policies and procedures.

Your Skills:

  • Technically proficient in drafting drawings in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
  • Advanced experience with MS Office skills
  • Working technical knowledge of electricity (Ohm's Law, voltage, amperage, circuits)
  • Working technical knowledge of piping and insulation systems and components
  • Working knowledge of P&IDs (Piping & Instrument Diagrams)
  • Working knowledge of Codes and Standards that pertain to heat tracing (IEEE 515, IEC/IEEE 60079-30-1 NEC, IEC, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Able to generate new ideas, challenge the status quo, take risks, support change, encourage innovation, and solve problems creatively.
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to team members, supervisors, and internal/external customers

Basic Qualifications:

  • B. Tech/B.E. in Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience as a Designer or Design Engineer in Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, Renewables or Pharma or similar industries.
  • Experience with heat trace design preferred
