Product Development Engineer III
As our Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for engineering work on multiple products. This role would be ideal for engineers who enjoy solving problems and documenting the processes to get the end result.
What you will be doing:
As the Product Development Engineer, you will work with global site engineers on assigned projects to perform and oversee testing, data collection, analysis, research and prototype creation and participate in the customer relationship throughout the development cycle.
The Product Development Engineer will lead product development of complex catheters or similar disposable devices and lead process development and commercialization of complex catheters. They will use strong hands-on knowledge of catheter fabrication processes, including extrusion, braiding, lamination, thermal bonding, and solvent bonding. The PD Engineer will be apart of a team in charge of developing complex endoscopic, vascular or cardiac catheter systems.
In addition, the PD Engineer will perform stress analysis using classical methods, Castigliano's theorem, and SolidWorks Simulation, lead design reviews, phase reviews, PFMEA, DFMEA, and similar reviews, 3D modeling, CAD design using SolidWorks, produce and review product documentation including drawings, proposals, and technical reports, each ensuring compliance with ISO 13485.
The PD Engineer will work with global site engineers on assigned projects and participate in the customer relationship throughout the development cycle.
What we expect from you:
Our preferred candidate will have a minimum of Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent experience in similar role with at least 10 years in catheter design/process development.
Our ideal candidate will have experience transitioning/supporting domestic and off-shore manufacturing and the ability to obtain a passport/visa and travel domestically and internationally as required. They will have team-leadership experience in product development, manufacturing processes, and development of medical devices; performance of new technology research; creation of product documentation, product testing protocols, and test reporting. They will need to have extensive background in design for manufacture, quality processes, and documentation of highly regulated (medical, aerospace, or similar) products.
This candidate will have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical materials as well as the ability to write reports and procedure manuals. In addition, this candidate will have the ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations. In addition, they will have the ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems and to deal with nonverbal symbolism and with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
They will need to have a willingness to participate in occasional off-hour discussions with company engineers based in United Kingdom, China, and other time zones as needed to ensure collaboration of design and manufacturing activities.
