What You'll Do:

As a Mechanical Designer, you will:

  • Prepare and review detailed design packages, including drawings, specifications, and engineering reports.
  • Interpret project specifications, codes, and standards to ensure compliance throughout the design and manufacturing process.
  • Create material lists (BOM), manufacturing drawings, and design reports, including pressure vessel calculations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs are implemented accurately and meet quality standards.
  • Provide timely engineering support to stakeholders, facilitating smooth workflows from design to production.
  • Participate in design review meetings to optimize manufacturability and quality of designs.

What You Bring to the Team:

We are looking for candidates with:

  • A post-secondary degree in mechanical engineering (or related discipline with relevant experience).
  • Professional engineer licensure or eligibility to pursue licensure in Alberta.
  • 0-10 years of experience in mechanical or industrial design.
  • Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and PDMS.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASME) and experience with materials, welding, and fabrication processes (experience with pressure vessels is an asset).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

Skills That Set You Apart:

  • Experience with ASME BPVC (Section VIII Div. 1).
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Vault, COMPRESS, and MathCAD.
  • Understanding of electrical and control systems.
