The Role

We are seeking a technically talented professional who can align internal teams with external forces. A great opportunity to grow with Thermon. You will collaborate as a key member of the team supporting our operations to meet challenging project budgets and schedule targets for manufacturing projects.

The Quality Assurance (QA) Supervisor is responsible for the QA Program for Thermon Oakville. Successful candidate will oversee all associated inspection and testing requirements of the Nuclear and Commercial QA systems according to ISO 9001, ASME Part A Section I, IV, VIII, and ASME Section III.

What You Will Do

Quality Control:

  • Coordinate with the QC supervisor on work assignments for QC inspectors
  • Assure accuracy of records for inspection and testing checklists and NDE reports.
  • Periodic visits to the shop floor to monitor job performance
  • Liaise with customers and 3rd party inspectors and Authorized Inspection Agency (TSSA)

Quality Assurance:

  • Assure adequacy of QA/QC records per the company's manuals
  • Prepare and review inspection and testing plans (ITP)
  • Provide corrective actions to non-conformity and customer complaints
  • Reconcile Material (C/MTRs) against ASME, RCC-M material requirements for Code and standards compliance and applicable customer specifications
  • Maintain welder performance records and qualifications
  • Prepare and assemble manufacturer's data books (MDBs)
  • Participate in supplier audits and maintains an up-to-date approved supplier list (ASL)

Continuous Improvement:

  • Create effective plans to promote change and run Kaizen
  • Solve problems using 5 whys and Root cause analysis
  • Develops strong relationships with leaders and employees at all levels
  • Act as a change agent to instill Lean culture throughout the organization

Education and Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering or similar technical discipline with a minimum of five years of related supervisory experience
  • Certified individual UM ASME VIII Div. 1, CWB Level II, III will be an asset
  • Working knowledge of ISO9001, ASME III, VIII, CSA N299, and N285 will be an asset
  • Training on ISO internal audit ISO
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, AutoCad

Work Environment:

  • A combination of office and 20% on the shop floor activities
  • Travel up to 20% of the time to suppliers' facilities
