Turner Industries Group is looking for an experienced Diesel and Heavy Equipment Mechanic for the Houston, TX area. The successful candidate will have a background working on large diesel engines - Cat, Cummins, Detroit - as well as experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems on heavy equipment such as cranes, dirt moving machinery, and dump beds. This is a long-term position based at our campus in Houston with:

• 40 Hours+
• Overtime and call-outs as needed - overtime paid at time-and-a-half

• Per diem and relocation is not available for this position; the successful candidate will be a current resident in the Houston metro area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for entering various petrochemical sites and performing repairs on existing equipment, primarily cranes. This will require a TWIC card, the ability to pass a background check, and attend HASC for training requirements to enter facilities. It will also require a valid Driver's License to drive a company repair truck.

General Job Description:

Repairs automotive equipment, including but not limited to, trucks, carts, buggies, air compressors, welding machines, cranes, dirt equipment and trailers. Non-exempt role; Reports to Direct Supervisor / Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

Functional Requirements:

Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on various automotive and heavy equipment, Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Qualification Standards:

• High school or equivalent
• General gasoline and diesel engine knowledge
• Ability to diagnose and repair equipment
• Organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize and work self-directed and alone at times
• ASME certified preferred
• Technical training and/or industrial related safety experience
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others at the workplace
