Optics Applications Engineer I Job Duties and Competencies:
Support PM/BD Manager to coordinate Optics Business Development.
Develop business and marketing strategies that grow Moxtek Optics business.Utilize optical/technical experience combined with market research to define new business opportunities.
Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product roadmaps, and special reports and analyses; answering questions and requests.
Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
Work with BD/PM manager to prioritize projects based on market potential and work with engineering and R&D to develop new products in a timely manner.
Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders.
Assess and explore various market technologies and challenges. Assess Moxtek capabilities to provide sustainable solutions.
Clearly define requirements to provide products/services.
Develop relationships with extremal experts forming a broad network.
Create product marketing collateral as needed.
Assist sales and marketing to answer customer questions.
Work effectively with Sales and Marketing team to support customers on BD projects.
Effectively work with R&D to achieve results.
Performs all aspects of biz development, customer communications, product promotions, product and marketing positioning, pricing, strategy, training, etc...
Regularly perform competitive analysis and recommend strategies to improve market position.
Possess technical expertise to discuss applications with key customers.
Recommend future product lines by appraising new product ideas. Evaluate options that would generate positive growth and profit.
Assess Moxtek's potential manufacturing capabilities as well as ideas for external partnerships that drive new business.
Visit customers and potential customers as needed to assess opportunities. Coordinate with Sales team.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Assist sales with tradeshows as needed.
Present posters or presentations at tradeshows if needed.
