Museum Director

for

Silver Reef Museum

Salary $55,000 to $65,000 DOE/Full Time

Hours: Non-traditional dynamic work schedule which includes working holidays, except Christmas and New Years Day.

An experienced person is needed to operate the Silver Reef Museum in Leeds, Utah. This Director will perform professional, administrative, and managerial duties related to planning, organizing, and directing the Museum to ensure its continuing success.

Essential functions will include overseeing the historic facilities and grounds, serve as chief curator and collections manager, provide direct supervision to staff and volunteers, budget and assets, museum membership and fundraising, community outreach, reporting to the Board of Directors as well as attending board meetings, other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Education and Experience: Successful managerial experience and an appropriate educational background.

• Working Knowledge of the following: Principles and practices of budgeting and basic accounting and record keeping procedures. Familiarity with grant writing.

• Ability to organize special events and exhibitions; write well; direct a small staff, and maintain effective working relationships with history and arts organizations, and state and County officials.
