About the Role
We are hiring Mechatronics QA Engineers at Levels I through III to join our Quality Assurance Team. These roles focus on ensuring the quality of ASI's autonomous mechatronic systems through extensive testing, debugging, and analysis. You will work closely with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to validate integrated system performance, identify defects, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Duties
Mechatronics QA Engineer I
- Execute manual test cases on mechatronic systems in lab and field environments.
- Support basic troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and software components.
- Maintain documentation and assist with test protocols.
- Report bugs and defects using test case management tools.
- Participate in scrum meetings and support test setup and teardown.
Mechatronics QA Engineer II (includes Level I responsibilities +)
- Develop comprehensive test plans and procedures for integrated systems.
- Conduct root cause analysis of system-level defects.
- Support user-acceptance testing and performance validation.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Mentor junior testers and contribute to QA process development.
Mechatronics QA Engineer III (includes Level I-II responsibilities +)
- Lead testing strategy and validation for complex autonomous mechatronic platforms.
- Build and refine testing protocols for field deployment and production-readiness.
- Provide leadership in cross-disciplinary debugging and validation reviews.
- Contribute to automation and efficiency improvements within QA processes.
- Represent QA in design reviews and product planning efforts.
Requirements
Level I
- 1-2 years of QA testing or relevant engineering experience.
- Degree or coursework in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Robotics Engineering.
- Familiarity with integrated mechanical-electrical-software systems.
- Experience using tools like JIRA, multimeters, and oscilloscopes.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
Level II
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in QA/testing mechatronic systems.
- Proficiency with test design, bug tracking, and component integration validation.
- Experience across mechanical, electrical, and embedded systems testing.
- Exposure to scripting tools (e.g., Python, Bash) and data analysis techniques.
Level III
- 6+ years in QA or testing for complex mechatronic or robotic systems.
- Proven leadership in QA test execution or systems validation.
- Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis expertise.
- Familiarity with HIL testing and QA automation strategies.
Travel Requirements
- Level I: Up to 10% travel for testing in lab and field environments.
- Level II: Up to 20% travel for system integration and deployment testing.
- Level III: Up to 30% travel for field test leadership, customer interaction, and validation initiatives.
