Finance & Payroll Assistant
Location: KOTM: Orem, Utah
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Payroll & Finance Assistant will be responsible for supporting payroll processing and assisting with accounts payable/receivable and supporting payroll processing for a fast-paced, growing non-profit organization. This role ensures accurate payroll administration, maintains financial records, and provides excellent service regarding payroll and accounting-related inquiries.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities
- Process and ensure accurate and timely payroll in Paycom for all employees.
- Review and verify employee time records, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Maintain and update payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and pay adjustments.
- Assist with payroll reporting, year-end procedures (W-2, tax filings), and reconciliation.
- Address employee payroll inquiries, deductions, and benefits-related questions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure payroll accuracy.
Finance & Accounting Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Prepare invoices and post payments to customer accounts.
- Enter and process vendor bills, ensuring timely payments.
- Reconcile credit card statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with financial reporting, ad-hoc reports, and accounting projects as assigned.
- Maintain and update financial records in NetSuite and Microsoft Excel.
- Perform other clerical and bookkeeping tasks related to accounting.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Electronic filing and document organization.
- Updating computer records and databases.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Two-year degree in accounting or working toward a four-year degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in payroll, finance, or accounting preferred.
- Experience with Paycom HRIS is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, NetSuite, and Microsoft Excel is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize, organize tasks, and manage time efficiently.
- A team player with strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
