General Manager Position

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated General Manager to oversee the successful operation of our entire dealership. This role requires a leader with strong strategic thinking skills, a passion for automotive management, and a commitment to excellence. The General Manager will be accountable for dealership profitability, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Profitability Management: Ensure the dealership and each department achieve and maintain profitability. Develop strategies to meet or exceed financial goals.
- Customer and Employee Satisfaction: Maintain high Customer Service Index scores and ensure employee satisfaction and morale are consistently high.
- Inventory Management: Oversee vehicle inventory management, including new and used vehicle operations, to optimize sales and profit while minimizing costs.
- Leadership and Development: Provide strong leadership and mentorship to department managers. Build and maintain a capable management team.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor cash flow and financial performance, ensure accurate financial reporting, and manage compensation plans and payroll.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the corporate office and the President on strategic planning, forecasts, and business strategies.
- Vendor and Factory Relations: Develop and maintain positive relationships with manufacturers and lending institutions.
- Policy and Procedures: Develop and enforce dealership policies, ensure compliance with regulations, and resolve customer complaints as needed.
- Marketing and Merchandising: Develop effective merchandising strategies and advertising programs to drive dealership success.
- Facility Management: Ensure the dealership's appearance is maintained and operational standards are upheld.
Qualifications:
- Experience: At least 5 years of automotive retail management experience in a similar role.
- Education: High School Degree required; College Degree preferred.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Expertise in sales, customer service, and financial management.
- Knowledge: Proficient in industry regulations, trends, and market conditions.
- Licenses: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
