Position Summary:
Perform as the Electro-Mechanical Engineer in a highly interactive sustaining engineering role for a variety of ophthalmic laser and laser delivery systems. You will play an important part in the Lumenis Salt Lake City manufacturing site for industry leading medical laser systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Use skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies to resolve a wide range of issues in support of manufactured medical devices and lasers.
- Document processes and Engineering Change Orders as required by company SOP to maintain and develop manufacturing work instructions, design changes, etc.
- Support selection, implementation, and design of equipment, tooling, and fixtures.
- Select components and use schematic and PCB design software to implement them into finished products.
- Sustaining engineering projects that involve analog and digital circuits, microcontrollers, high voltage power supplies, RF, and electro-optical systems.
- New Product Design transfers from R&D to production.
- Foster and develop good working relationships with team members across Manufacturing, Service and R&D.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics or equivalent.
- Demonstrable design experience relating to electrical and mechanical systems (preferably laser systems/medical devices).
- Ability to work on a team and take initiative in a fast paced, interactive environment.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Strong working knowledge of analog/digital electronic circuits, PCB layout tools and related software (OrCAD, Altium, etc.)
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, schematics, and CAD software such as SolidWorks.
- Programming experience (e.g. Python, C++, C#, VHDL, Matlab, etc.)
- Microcontroller/FPGA experience
- High Voltage design experience
- Working knowledge of PLM systems/ECO process
